Glossary
8080: short number allowing direct access to Mobile Internet sites indexed in PlazZza. The user sends a free SMS to 8080 with the keyword for the service desired (for example “Samsung”) or a generic keyword (for example, “logo”). In return, he receives an SMS including a clickable link which permits him to directly access the desired site or a complete list of sites corresponding to the keyword sent.
7890: short number allowing direct access to Mobile Internet sites indexed in PlazZza, and which are reserved exclusively for adults.
Category: with Proximus (but not Mobistar) PlazZza services can be classified by category (ringtones, games, music, images, news & weather, sport, love, fun, practical info, finance and community).
Hitcode: a Hitcode is a keyword communicated by a merchant and used only for that one service. It allows the user to immediately enter the advertiser’s WAP site. He either types the Hitcode into the search field on the PlazZza homepage and is taken directly to the service in question; or he sends a free SMS to 8080 (or 7890 for adult content sites) with the Hitcode. In this case, he receives a free return message with the direct link to the searched service.
Mobile payment system: in order to facilitate the secure sale of your digital content on the Mobile Internet, each operator has developed its own payment system. In other words, each Belgian mobile operator has put into place a payment system that allows consumers to securely buy content on the Mobile Internet and to pay using their prepaid card or their mobile telephone bill. Your facilitator will suggest whether or not you should connect to the three mobile payment systems.
Keyword: users are recommended to conduct keyword searches for content by using generic keywords such as “music”, “games”, “cinema”, “food” or “sport”. They should avoid too-specific words such as artist’s names or brands. These will limit their results too much.
Mobile Internet: this concept comprises all of the content and functions available in relation to mobile sites. The user can access these sites though WAP from any place, at any time.
WAP Push SMS: a message containing a clickable link allowing the user to directly access a WAP site or to download content (logos, ringtones, etc.). Usually, all the user needs to do is follow the directions on his mobile phone to activate the link.
WAP: WAP is a technology that allows a user to access the Internet from his mobile telephone. The parameters are not necessarily installed by default on the handset: sometimes the user needs to activate them through his mobile operator.
This service may be debited from the general communication package or may require a specific bundle. The user should check with his mobile operator.
